Amy Newbold — Simon Casting

Amy Newbold - Now Amy Newbold - Then

Amy Newbold

Casting Associate

Upon receiving her BFA in Theatre from Roosevelt University in May 2008, Amy joined the ladies of Claire Simon Casting for an internship the following fall. After spending four years working with the loveliest ladies around, Amy had her very own quarter life crisis…deciding to leave it all, conquer the world and become a nurse. Shortly after, she got thrown right back into the industry; this time as an actress when she booked the role of Molly in the Summit Entertainment film “Divergent”. Since wrapping “Divergent”, Amy has made the happiest homecoming to Simon Casting. An avid theatre-goer, tv/film aficionada, and comedy junkie, Amy is dedicated to getting familiar with all the amazing talent the city of Chicago has to offer. Some of her favorite projects include ABC’s Detroit 187, FOX’s Chicago Code, Contagion, Man of Steel, and most recently, the new FOX television series “Empire” with Lee Daniels.

Casting Advice

Don’t let your life hang on whether or not you book this job. Desperation is a palpable vibe… no one wants to live with it… or work with it. :) Make sure to find your value and identity in something other than booking the job.
